Razer Snake Gaiters - Snake Proof Gaiters for Women and Men
When Do You Need Protection from Potential Snake Bite? When it warms up, snakes come out. In general, that means snakes are most active between March and October, but you can still come across them during the winter if the weather is unseasonably mild. Snakes are most active in the early mornings during the spring and summer. They go back into their dens at night. Whether you hunt, hike, camp, fish or backpack just on weekends, or work every day in snake country as a landscaper, forest ranger, or in the oil and gas industry, don't take a chance! If you frequent where rattlesnakes, copperheads, and other venomous vipers live, use common sense precautions to avoid being bitten, and at the same time protect your lower legs while in the desert or woods with these Razer snake guards. FREE SHIPPING!
Razer Snake Gaiters are light-weight (each weighs only 12 ounces) and are uniquely contoured to fit around your calves. A toe cover protects the laces of your boot (if struck, you definitely don't want snake fangs becoming entangled in your laces!). This means you have 12 inches of snake bite protection (approximately knee to ankle) with an additional 5 inches of protection across the top of your foot. 1000 denier nylon cordura covers polycarbonate inserts to stop snake fangs, cacti needles, briars, thorns, sticks, etc. These snake guards also help keep your pants clean and dry. Always wear snake gaiters over pants and with footwear that fangs cannot penetrate. Each pair comes with a FREE nylon storage bag. One size fits most! Measure around your calf while wearing pants. Razer Snake Gaiters are adjustable and will fit calves 13 to 20 inches in circumference; 12 inches tall from knee to ankle.
While even these best snake gaiters cannot claim 100% protection from snakes 100% of the time, feel confident in areas where deadly rattlesnakes are present knowing that Razer Snake Gaiters have achieved:

More About Crotalus Durissus — Rattlesnakes
According to the Game & Fish Department, rattlesnakes can only bite from a coiled position, which is how they spend most of their day — coiled in most any outdoor space sunning themselves and waiting for prey — rock ledges, piles of wood, under bushes, beside boulders. Snakes also take up residence in back corners and lesser used areas of garages, barns, and backyard sheds. Many snakes are harmless and will go out of their way to avoid people, but some snakes are aggressive when they sense a potential challenge.
When you walk by a "hidden" snake, you may not hear it rattle. In fact, rattlesnakes do not always vibrate their tails before they strike. And did you know that rattlesnakes also hiss? Although the rattle is a more recognizable warning sign of an impending bite, hissing is their secondary warning posture— kind of like what a cat does when threatened by a dog. If a pit viper is surprised or threatened they can attack without warning. And baby rattlesnakes, while they still have venom, often have not developed rattles. There has been some debate as to whether baby rattlesnake or adult rattlesnake venom is more deadly. Baby rattlers' venom contains more neurotoxin and adult rattlers contain more cytotoxins. Each “toxin” serves a specific purpose but regardless, you don't want to get bitten by a snake of any age!
If you are bitten by a rattler, seek medical help immediately. Until you get can emergency help, keep these tips in mind:
• Remain calm and try to move beyond the snake’s striking distance. The less you move, the better.
• Remove jewelry from area around bite, before it starts to swell.
• Position yourself so that the bite is at or below the level of your heart.
• NEVER try to suck out the venom, NEVER apply a tourniquet, and NEVER cut the bite area. Do not use a tourniquet or apply ice. You can clean the wound but do not flush it with water. Cover it with clean dry dressing. Most medical care centers in known "snake states" such as Arizona, Texas, Nevada, and California are well stocked with anti-venom. Leave the treatment of a rattlesnake bite to the experts.
When venturing into an area where snakes are known to live, you can help protect your lower legs with snake gaiters — the best layer of defense against deadly fangs! While no product can claim 100% protection from snakes 100% of the time, these snake gaiters for women and snake gaiters for men can provide some peace of mind— the best snake gaiters for hunting, hiking, and working around log piles and clearing yard debris. And since you cannot always easily identify a poisonous snake by sight, it is better to treat ALL snakes as if their bite is deadly. Even if you are aware of the differences between species, the subtle signs may not be apparent from a distance. And even if you are wearing rattlesnake gaiters, it is best to avoid all interactions with all snakes.
